How it all began
We are first longtime friends, growing up together in our parents’ households in the Couples for Christ community. We would play Rock Band together, go head-to-head in room escape games, card games, and sardines. Every moment was filled with laughter and exciting competitions.
As we grew older, so did our friendship, as we continued to serve side by side within the CFC Youth community. The games and competition persisted, but so did our connection as we began writing funny letters to each other. Although, it wasn't until we started editing music for a CFCY PreCon dance competition that we really clicked. Emman asked, "Wanna watch a movie?" And from that simple question, a tradition began.
We started watching movies together night after night, finding comfort and joy in each other's company. Our talks and letters got deeper and more meaningful, a little flirty and more feely. In the same way, Emman expressed his romantic feelings for Katie, beginning his pursuit.
As Katie began her first year at Drexel University, Emman continued to surprise her on campus. Attentive to her schedule, Emman would bring her coffee for long days, dinners on rehearsal nights, ice cream for that time of the month, and flowers just because. Even though Emman was so ready to start this relationship, Katie was not.
Because of Emman’s love and commitment, Katie desired to enter the relationship the same way. With the upcoming Lenten season, Katie dedicated her time and prayer for this discernment.
As God continued to reveal Emman’s role in Katie’s life, leading her to become more of herself, Katie said “yes” by the end of that Easter Sunday.
And the rest is history
We've discovered more about ourselves and join in each other’s joys and passions, embracing our faith through ministry and service, challenging each other to think, do, and see differently.
And a long 8 years later, here we are, committing to forever. With hearts full of joy, love, and gratitude, we can't wait to see what the future holds for us.
